Bajaj Auto's GST Demand of Rs 3.52 Crore and Penalty of Rs 0.35 Crore Set Aside by Appellate Authority

Bajaj Auto Limited has received a favourable order from the Commissioner (Appeals), Guwahati, setting aside a GST demand of Rs 3.52 crore along with interest and a penalty of Rs 0.35 crore. The appellate authority passed the order under section 107(11) of the CGST Act, 2017.

Bajaj Auto had informed the stock exchanges on October 7, 2025, about an order received on October 6, 2025, from the Joint Commissioner, CGST & CX, Guwahati. The original order had raised a GST demand against Bajaj Auto. Bajaj Auto had filed an appeal against the demand before the Commissioner (Appeals), Guwahati.

The Commissioner (Appeals), Guwahati, set aside the entire tax demand of Rs 3.52 crore and the associated penalty of Rs 0.35 crore. Bajaj Auto received the appellate order on June 8, 2026, at 6:30 PM.

The order was in the nature of an order in appeal under section 107(11) of the CGST Act, 2017. Bajaj Auto made the disclosure to the stock exchanges under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. The disclosure was in furtherance to the intimation sent by Bajaj Auto on October 7, 2025.

Bajaj Auto confirmed to the exchanges that the order sets aside the entire demand raised by the Joint Commissioner. Rajiv Gandhi, company secretary and compliance officer of Bajaj Auto, signed the disclosure submitted to the BSE and NSE.
