Balkrishna Industries Completes Carbon Black and Power Plant Capacity Expansion

Balkrishna Industries Limited (BALKRISIND) has completed its Carbon Black expansion project, increasing total production capacity to 360,000 MTPA. The expansion adds 95,000 MTPA to the existing capacity of 265,000 MTPA, with current utilization at 91 percent. The prior expansion to 265,000 MTPA from the original 200,000 MTPA was announced on 19 December 2025.

The Carbon Black expansion required an investment of Rs 800 crore, funded through internal accruals. This investment covers capacity enhancement from the original 200,000 MTPA to the current 360,000 MTPA. The expansion represents a 36 percent increase in Carbon Black capacity.

BALKRISIND also completed its Power Plant expansion, increasing capacity from 40 MW to 64 MW. The 24 MW addition was announced on 24 February 2026, with existing capacity utilization at 80 percent. The Power Plant project involved an investment of Rs 125 crore, also funded through internal accruals. Power Plant capacity rose by 60 percent.

Both projects are part of BALKRISIND's growth plan for Year 2030. The capital expenditure program integrated common equipment and infrastructure across the Power Plant and Carbon Black production lines.

The combined investment for both projects totals Rs 925 crore. The information was submitted to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd and is available on BALKRISIND's website.
