Bharat Forge Limited, through its wholly owned defense subsidiary Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd, has signed a strategic partnership with AM General to offer mounted artillery gun systems to armies worldwide. The partnership was formalized at the Eurosatory defense exposition in Paris on June 18, 2026.

AM General has proposed to participate in the U.S. Army Mobile Tactical Cannon program, with a plan to develop and deliver a 155mm solution based on KSSL's mounted artillery platform, targeting delivery in 2027 upon down-selection.

The MArG system features a 52-caliber 155mm cannon with patented Soft Recoil Technology, which absorbs significantly more recoil force than traditional artillery systems, enabling lighter vehicle and turret designs. The system fires standard high-explosive projectiles over 40 kilometers and carries more than 20 projectiles and propellant charges on-board.

The platform provides class-leading strategic transportability and tactical mobility through a purpose-built powerpack and suspension, with a lighter gross vehicle weight rating. The partnership is intended to support broader allied distribution as a scalable and exportable artillery solution for partner nations.

Kalyani Strategic Systems Ltd is a wholly owned defense subsidiary of Bharat Forge, with over six decades of expertise in design, engineering, metallurgy, and advanced manufacturing, delivering sovereign defense capabilities across land, marine, and unmanned domains.
