Bharat Forge Limited, through its wholly-owned defence subsidiary Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), has unveiled the Simha 4x4 next-generation Light Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris. KSSL developed the vehicle jointly with Paramount for armed forces in India, Africa, South Asia and other global markets.

The Simha 4x4 is an ab initio design built around NATO-qualified aggregates, combining power, agility and protection. Its modular architecture enables upgrades, customizations and modifications across mission profiles including reconnaissance, internal security, border protection, special operations, command-and-control, troop transport and force protection. The vehicle was developed in record time using advanced digital platforms with thorough product validation and testing.

Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge, said the Simha 4x4 draws on the engineering and defence expertise KSSL brings to the global stage. He noted the vehicle is Europeanized by Design, built around NATO-qualified aggregates, and engineered for rapid industrialisation in partner nations. Kalyani added that the platform is a statement that India's defence industry can deliver protection and tactical mobility to armed forces worldwide, while empowering nations to build that capability on their own soil.

Eric Ichikowitz, Senior Vice President of Paramount, said defence forces globally seek highly adaptable platforms that can perform multiple missions, integrate emerging technologies and be produced locally. He stated that the Simha 4x4 was designed from the outset to meet those requirements, combining protection, mobility, modularity and affordability in a platform that can evolve alongside changing operational needs. Ichikowitz called the vehicle a display of what can be achieved when defence companies combine their expertise, industrial capabilities and long-term strategic vision.

The Simha 4x4 can be rapidly industrialised and localised in partner nations, supporting national defence-industrial development strategies and reducing long-term dependence on foreign supply chains. The vehicle joins a growing portfolio of jointly developed defence solutions from the Paramount-KSSL partnership.
