Bharti Airtel Limited received a notice from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) imposing a penalty of Rs 1,71,000 for alleged violation of subscriber verification norms. The notice was received on May 29, 2026 at 6:49 PM IST. Bharti Airtel disclosed the notice to the National Stock Exchange and BSE under Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations. The disclosure was signed by Rohit Krishan Puri, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Bharti Airtel.

The DoT conducted a Customer Application Form (CAF) Audit for March 2026. The audit alleged that Bharti Airtel did not comply with subscriber verification norms under the license agreement. Bharti Airtel has opted to pay the penalty of Rs 1,71,000 and will not contest the notice. The maximum financial impact is limited to the penalty amount. The disclosure was submitted to the exchanges on May 30, 2026, with the notice attached as an annexure. Bharti Airtel confirmed that the information provided is true, correct, and complete to the best of its knowledge.
