Coal India Limited Receives Letter of Award for 600 MW Solar Plant in Uttar Pradesh

Coal India Limited has received a Letter of Award from Bundelkhead Saur Urja Limited for setting up a 600 MW solar plant at Jalaun Solar Park in Uttar Pradesh. The order was disclosed in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange and National Stock Exchange of India on 1 July 2026, under Regulation 30 of SEBI LODR Regulations 2015, with reference number CIL:XI(D):4157/4156:2026:34940.

The project comprises two units of 300 MW each and will be developed at a tariff of Rs 2.73 per kWh. The estimated project cost is Rs 2,831.11 crore, which will be incurred over the execution period.

Coal India Limited will sign a Power Purchase Agreement, Infrastructure Sharing Agreement, and Land Rental and User Agreement after submitting required documents as per the Letter of Award and paying upfront solar park development charges before signing of the ISA. The execution timeline is 18 months from the signing of the PPA.

Bundelkhead Saur Urja Limited is a domestic entity and no promoter or promoter group of Coal India Limited has any interest in the awarding entity. The contract is not a related party transaction.

The order strengthens Coal India Limited's presence in the renewable energy sector and aligns with India's solar expansion targets. The project is part of the company's diversification into clean energy sources.
