The filing was made on June 15, 2026, by the Railway Board on behalf of the President of India and submitted to BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India.
The Ministry of Railways, the promoter of Container Corporation of India, holds 41,73,56,218 equity shares of face value Rs 5 each in Container Corporation of India. This represents 54.80 per cent of the total paid-up equity share capital of CONCOR. The shares are held directly by the Government of India through the Ministry of Railways.
The filing confirmed that no encumbrance has been created, directly or indirectly, on these shares by the Government of India. The promoter, along with Persons Acting in Concert, has reported that none of the shares held in Container Corporation of India are subject to any pledge, lien, or other form of encumbrance.
Since the promoter shareholding carries no encumbrance, the annual disclosure under Regulation 31(4) for FY 2025-26 has been reported as not applicable in respect of the Government of India's stake in Container Corporation of India. The letter from the Ministry of Railways, bearing reference number 2024/PL/57/L5 and dated April 6, 2026, was signed by an authorized signatory of the Railway Board.
Container Corporation of India is the largest container rail logistics operator in the country. CONCOR operates a network of inland container depots and container freight stations across India, handling a significant portion of the country's containerized rail freight volume.
