Concord Biotech Limited has completed a joint regulatory inspection at its Unit-II formulation facility conducted by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) from Kenya and the National Drug Authority (NDA) from Uganda. The two regulators carried out the inspection concurrently over seven days.
The inspection was conducted from June 18, 2026 to June 24, 2026 and concluded successfully, the company said in filings to the National Stock Exchange and BSE on June 25. The exchange disclosure was signed by Paritosh Trivedi, company secretary and compliance officer.
PPB is Kenya's principal drug regulatory authority responsible for ensuring quality, safety, and efficacy of pharmaceutical products, while NDA serves as the equivalent regulator in Uganda. Clearance from both agencies is necessary for pharmaceutical companies to supply products in Kenya and Uganda. The concurrent inspection by two national regulators at a single facility enables coordinated regulatory assessment and reduces duplication.
Concord Biotech is a Gujarat-based pharmaceutical company specializing in fermentation-based active pharmaceutical ingredients and formulations. Incorporated in 1984, the company operates manufacturing facilities in Dholka, Ahmedabad district, with a corporate office in Ahmedabad. The Unit-II formulation facility has added regulatory clearances from two East African national drug authorities through this inspection. The company's manufacturing sites undergo periodic inspections by health authorities from countries where its products are supplied.
