Godawari Power And Ispat Limited has informed the Exchange about increasing its investment in Godawari New Energy Private Limited. The company received intimation on July 4, 2026 from its wholly owned subsidiary regarding allotment of 15,00,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each at par aggregating to Rs 150.00 crore on rights basis on July 3, 2026.
Consequent upon the aforesaid allotment, GPIL's investment in GNEPL has increased from 45,00,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each to 60,00,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each, totaling Rs 600.00 crore, comprising 100% paid capital of GNEPL.
The funds invested by GPIL will be utilized by GNEPL to meet proposed capital expenditure and working capital requirements for setting up a 20 GWh Battery Energy Storage System Plant in the first phase. GNEPL has been incorporated on June 25, 2025 and has not yet started its business operations.
As on March 31, 2026, the net worth of GNEPL was Rs 298.01 crore and its turnover was NIL. The company is in the process of setting up a BESS Project with registered office at Raipur, Chhattisgarh and operations to be established in Maharashtra.
This further investment follows GPIL's previous announcements on February 6, 2026 and May 19, 2026 regarding initial investment approval for GNEPL's capex and working capital requirements for the energy storage system plant setup. This completes the acquisition-related disclosures under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations.
