The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited took delivery of the 2015-built Long Range 2 Tanker "Jag Laxman" of about 109,990 dwt on July 9, 2026. The company had contracted to buy the vessel in the first quarter of financial year 2026-27.

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited financed the acquisition entirely from internal accruals, with no external borrowing tied to the transaction. The vessel adds to the company's product tanker portfolio within its tanker segment.

After the delivery, The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited owns a fleet of 41 vessels in total. The fleet comprises 26 tankers and 15 dry bulk carriers, aggregating 3.35 million dwt of shipping capacity.

The 26 tankers consist of 5 crude tankers, 17 product tankers and 4 LPG carriers. The 15 dry bulk carriers comprise 2 Capesize, 10 Kamsarmax, 1 Ultramax and 2 Supramax vessels, giving the company a diversified dry bulk profile.

The current capacity utilisation of The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited's owned fleet stands close to 100%. High utilisation reflects the company's near-full deployment of available tonnage across both segments.

The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited has also contracted to sell one secondhand Long Range 2 Product Tanker. The company expects the sale transaction to be completed in the second quarter of financial year 2026-27.
