InterGlobe Aviation Limited, which operates under the IndiGo brand, announced the temporary suspension of operations to six international destinations as part of a network optimisation exercise. IndiGo cited softer anticipated demand in the upcoming quarter and an increasingly challenging cost environment as the reasons for these adjustments.

The impacted routes include Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh, Hong Kong and Shanghai starting 1 July 2026, and Siem Reap starting 3 July 2026. The suspensions will remain in effect until 30 September 2026, with bookings for all affected services set to resume from 1 October 2026.

Despite these adjustments, IndiGo retains over 1,800 weekly international flights, preserving the majority of its international network. IndiGo stated that the measured changes are designed to align capacity with current market conditions and demand trends while maintaining reliability and network integrity across its global destinations. The airline said it made the decision after evaluating demand patterns and cost pressures across its international routes.

IndiGo said it stands prepared to reinstate these services earlier than scheduled if the operating environment becomes favourable. IndiGo noted it continues to monitor the situation given elevated operating costs and persistent airspace restrictions. The airline will proactively inform affected customers and has advised passengers to check the latest flight information before planning their journeys. Affected travellers will receive communication regarding alternative options or refunds.

IndiGo operates a fleet of over 400 aircraft with more than 2,200 daily flights, connecting over 95 domestic and 40 international destinations. The carrier served 124 million customers in calendar year 2025 and was named the Best Airline in India and South Asia by Skytrax at the World Airline Awards 2025.
