Jindal Stainless Hisar and Jajpur units win CII National Awards for energy efficiency

Jindal Stainless Limited's Hisar and Jajpur manufacturing units received four awards at the 10th CII National Energy Efficiency Circle Competition 2026 in New Delhi on July 2-3. The competition brought together leading organisations from sectors including steel, automobiles, power, and manufacturing.

The Hisar unit won the National Award for Best Energy Efficient Case Study and the National Award for Best Case Study on Low Carbon/Carbon Neutral Initiative. Its award-winning initiatives included waste heat recovery systems, heater-less vaporisers, renewable energy integration, energy-efficient equipment upgrades, and green hydrogen applications. Over the last four years, the unit has implemented 112 energy efficiency projects, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 584,903 tCO₂e through renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.

The Jajpur unit was recognised under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency PAT/CCTS Scheme and for Effective Implementation of ISO 50001 Energy Management System. Its initiatives included a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler, Melt Control System in the Electric Arc Furnace, optimisation of the Reheating Furnace and Chrome Palletisation Plant, and renewable energy integration. The unit has implemented over 100 energy conservation projects over the last four years, cutting cumulative carbon emissions by over 471,398 tCO₂e.

Across both units, Jindal Stainless has implemented over 200 energy efficiency projects over the last four years, achieving cumulative emissions reduction of over 1.05 million tCO₂e.

Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal said sustainability is integral to how Jindal Stainless operates and grows. He said the CII recognitions reaffirm Jindal Stainless's focus on innovation that delivers both manufacturing performance and environmental impact. Jindal Stainless will continue investing in technologies that accelerate India's low-carbon transition, he added.
