JSW Energy Limited, through its step-down wholly owned subsidiary JSW Energy PSP Eleven Limited (JEPEL), secured orders worth Rs 443.74 crore from Bondada Renewable Energy Private Limited. The orders cover the supply of a 200 MW / 400 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and Power Conversion System (PCS) solutions. Bondada Renewable Energy Private Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Bondada Engineering Limited.
JEPEL operates a 5 GWh per annum battery assembly plant in Pune. The order adds to JSW Energy's locked-in energy storage capacity of 29.6 GWh, which includes 26.4 GWh of pumped hydro storage and 3.2 GWh of battery energy storage systems. Battery energy storage systems support grid stability, peak load management, and the integration of renewable energy into the power grid.
JSW Energy has a total locked-in generation capacity of 32.1 GW. This includes 14.53 GW of operational capacity and 13.0 GW under construction across thermal, hydro, and renewable sources, along with a pipeline of 4.6 GW. JSW Energy began commercial operations in 2000 with a 260 MW thermal power plant in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, and has since diversified its geographic presence and fuel sources.
JSW Energy, part of the USD 25 billion JSW Group, has established a presence across the power sector value chain with assets in power generation and transmission. JSW Energy is presently constructing power projects totalling 13 GW.
JSW Energy has set a target to reach 30 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030. JSW Energy aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
