Lupin Limited has entered into a collaboration with LABORATORIOS ERN S.A. for the launch of Luforbec (beclometasone/formoterol) 100/6 in Spain. Luforbec is a fixed-dose combination in a pressurized metered dose inhaler indicated for the treatment of adult asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Luforbec is indicated for the regular treatment of asthma where use of an inhaled corticosteroid and long-acting beta2-agonist combination product is appropriate. This includes patients not adequately controlled with inhaled corticosteroids and as-needed short-acting beta2-agonist. It is also indicated for the symptomatic treatment of patients with severe COPD and a history of repeated exacerbations who have significant symptoms despite regular long-acting bronchodilator therapy.
The launch in Spain follows successful introductions of Luforbec in the United Kingdom and Germany. The collaboration combines Lupin's global respiratory expertise and pMDI manufacturing capabilities with ERN's national reach and customer relationships across Spain.

David Solanes, CEO of LABORATORIOS ERN, said the partnership allows ERN to deliver a respiratory therapy to Spanish patients and healthcare professionals while expanding into a new therapeutic area.
