NTPC Limited on Friday informed the stock exchanges that its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited declared the commercial operation date for the third part capacity of 50 MW solar capacity from the 300 MW solar component of a 200 MW Round The Clock renewable energy project in Rajasthan. The COD for this capacity is effective from 14th June 2026.
With this third tranche achieving COD, the cumulative commissioned solar capacity from this project has reached 250 MW. The 300 MW solar component is part of the larger 200 MW RTC project located in Rajasthan and is being developed by a group company of NGEL.
RTC renewable energy projects are designed to supply firm and dispatchable power by integrating multiple generation sources such as solar and wind, often combined with energy storage systems. This Rajasthan RTC project represents a significant addition to NGEL's utility-scale renewable energy portfolio.
Following this capacity addition, the total installed capacity of the NTPC group has increased to 90,857 MW. The group's commercial capacity now stands at 88,977 MW. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations 2015.
NGEL serves as the dedicated renewable energy subsidiary of NTPC Limited, focusing on developing solar, wind, and other clean energy projects across India. The company is responsible for executing NTPC's renewable energy expansion plans.
