Patanjali Foods Limited has invested Rs 5 crore in Contemporary Agro Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary, through a rights issue of preference shares. The company subscribed to 50,00,000 zero percent redeemable preference shares priced at Rs 10 each, making a total cash investment of Rs 5 crore.

Contemporary Agro Private Limited is engaged in farming, agriculture, and plantation activities. The subsidiary was incorporated on April 18, 2024, in India, and reported no turnover for the financial year ended March 31, 2026.

This investment is a related party transaction as CAPL is a wholly owned subsidiary of Patanjali Foods. The transaction is conducted at arm's length, and no other promoters or group companies have any interest in CAPL beyond the company's holdings.

Patanjali Foods currently holds 100 percent of the share capital of CAPL, and this investment will not alter the shareholding percentage. CAPL remains a wholly owned subsidiary of Patanjali Foods after the investment.

CAPL's business objectives include providing training to farmers, using human resources in farming, improving various types of farming, and innovating in agriculture and plantation. The subsidiary aims to produce high-quality seeds for fruits, vegetables, and grains, focusing on agricultural development.

The investment is funded entirely in cash, and no governmental or regulatory approvals were necessary for the transaction. This capital infusion supports CAPL's operations in the agricultural and allied activities sector.
