Pidilite Industries Gets GST Penalty Confirmed in Order-in-Appeal

Pidilite Industries Limited has informed BSE Limited and the National Stock Exchange of India Limited about an Order-in-Appeal received from the Deputy Commissioner of State Tax, Appeal, Mumbai. The order bearing reference MUM-APP-E-1101 is dated June 30, 2026 and confirms a penalty of Rs 21,44,192 under applicable provisions of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act for the financial year 2022-23.

The penalty was originally imposed through an Order-in-Original dated May 9, 2024 by the tax authorities under GST provisions. The appellate authority has now confirmed the penalty through the current order-in-appeal, upholding the earlier decision.

Pidilite Industries is currently reviewing the order and evaluating the next steps in the matter. Pidilite Industries will assess exercising its right to appeal to the highest authority as permitted by law. The order is appealable under the applicable provisions of the GST Act.

Pidilite Industries has clarified that the order does not have any material impact on its financials, operations, or other activities. The intimation has been filed at the earliest opportunity after examining the order and ascertaining the complete facts.
