Schaeffler India Limited has secured a BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) license for Cylindrical Roller Bearings at its manufacturing plants in Maneja and Savli. This is the first such certification in the Indian bearing industry under the new Indian standard. The certification was disclosed through a press release on July 3, 2026.

The Cylindrical Roller Bearings license is the first awarded in the Indian bearing sector under the updated standard. Schaeffler India has also received BIS certification for Deep Groove Ball Bearings at both plant locations.

Harsha Kadam, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Schaeffler India Limited, said the certification shows the company’s readiness to meet evolving regulatory and industry requirements. “Being the first company to secure the BIS license for Cylindrical Roller Bearings under the new standard is a proud achievement for our teams,” Kadam said.

The Maneja and Savli plants manufacture bearing solutions for industrial and automotive applications. The BIS certification confirms adherence to the updated quality standards specified by the Bureau of Indian Standards for these product categories.

The certification strengthens Schaeffler India’s role as a technology partner serving customers across industrial and automotive sectors. It supports the advancement of quality benchmarks within the Indian manufacturing ecosystem.

Schaeffler India operates five manufacturing plants in the country, three R&D centers, and five sales offices with a nationwide industrial and automotive aftermarket network. The company has been present in India for over 60 years and employs more than 3,800 people. The Schaeffler Group has around 110,000 employees across 55 countries.
