Sona BLW Precision Forgings Limited has approved a capital expenditure of Rs 62.6 crore for manufacturing components and systems for the robotics industry, including advanced robotics. The board cleared the Capex at its meeting on June 16 based on the recommendation of the Capex Committee.
The new line of business will provide access to end markets and application areas beyond the automotive industry. Sona BLW Precision Forgings stated that the investment broadens its product portfolio and creates long-term growth opportunities. The Capex of Rs 62.6 crore covers components and systems for advanced robotics. The initiative marks Sona BLW Precision Forgings' entry into a new industrial segment outside its core automotive focus.
The board noted the resignation of Suman Poddar as Company Secretary and Arjun Singh as Compliance Officer, effective from the close of business on June 16, 2026. Poddar had been appointed in an interim capacity on April 16, 2026.
The board appointed Pankaj Gupta as Senior Vice President (Legal), Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, effective June 17, 2026, on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. Gupta is a qualified company secretary and holds a law degree from the University of Delhi and a bachelor's degree in commerce from Kirori Mal College. He brings over 27 years of experience across listed Indian groups and multinational corporations, including SPR Auto Technologies, Goodyear India, and Aricent Technologies. His expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, cross-border structuring, compliance architecture, ESG oversight, and board governance.
