Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has secured a landmark order worth approximately USD 560 million for the West Minya Solar Power Project in Egypt's Minya Governorate.

The project involves a 1,000 MWac capacity solar photovoltaic plant integrated with a 600 MWh battery energy storage system, making it one of Egypt's largest utility-scale renewable energy developments.

The order will be executed through a 50-50 joint venture with Hassan Allam Construction, a leading contractor in Egypt and the MENA region, which will handle full engineering, procurement, and construction including photovoltaic generation facilities, battery storage infrastructure, grid interconnection, and transmission works.

This marks the third gigawatt-scale order received by the company in the last nine months, reflecting growing project sizes and continued customer confidence in its large-scale solar and storage execution capabilities.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWREL) is a global pure-play, end-to-end renewable engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions provider with a total portfolio of over 27.3 GWp across 28 countries, operating in India, South-east Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe, Australia, and the Americas.

Global CEO Chandra Kishore Thakur stated the project supports Egypt's decarbonisation journey and strengthens energy security across the MENA region, with the company committed to delivering within stipulated timelines while maintaining safety and quality standards.
