Tata Power Company Limited received a Letter of Intent from REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, for the acquisition of Ryapte Power Transmission Limited as a project special purpose vehicle. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
The SPV will be developed on a Build-Own-Operate Transfer basis to provide transmission services for 35 years from the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date, which is set at 30 months after the SPV transfer.
The scope involves constructing approximately 250 km of line route comprising a 400 kV D/C line from Ryapte AIS Sub-station to the proposed 400/220 kV Doddathaggalli GIS Sub-station, a 400 kV D/C line from the existing Kolar Sub-station to Doddathaggalli, a 220 kV D/C line from Doddathaggalli to existing substations at Ekarajapura, Hosakote, and Sarjapura in Karnataka, and a 220 kV Underground cable from Doddathaggalli to those substations.
Tata Power will establish a 5x500 MVA, 400/220 kV substation at Ryapte in Tumkur District along with 2x125 MVAr, 400 kV Bus Reactors. A 3x500 MVA, 400/220 kV GIS substation will be set up at Doddathaggalli near Hoskote along with 2x125 MVA, 400 kV Bus Reactors.
The annual transmission charges for the project are Rs 521.07 crore.
