Tata Technologies Limited has launched the fourth edition of its engineering hackathon, InnoVent-27, in collaboration with Emerson's Test & Measurement business and Amazon Web Services. The competition is themed "AI at the Edge," challenging participants to build solutions deploying advanced computing at the data source for the automotive, industrial heavy machinery, and aerospace sectors.

The hackathon is open to third and fourth year engineering students across India. Applications span ADAS, autonomous systems, predictive maintenance, smart manufacturing, digital twins, intelligent inspection, secure connected ecosystems, and energy-efficient mobility solutions. Submissions must address real-world industrial challenges, with entries evaluated on novelty, feasibility, diversity, and potential real-world impact.

Tata Technologies will evaluate entries across three stages: concept screening, virtual proof-of-concept presentations, and final prototype demonstrations, with emphasis on functional prototypes. Subject matter experts from Tata Technologies will provide technical mentorship to support student innovations through each stage.

Top participants are eligible for cumulative cash prizes worth Rs 0.045 crore and job opportunities at Tata Technologies. Winners will also receive access to AWS cloud computing services, NI test and measurement tools, mentorship from subject matter experts, and sponsor awards including the Breakthrough Idea Award and Best Prototype Award.

Tata Technologies is encouraging inclusive participation, particularly from women engineers and differently abled students. All teams reaching the proof-of-concept stage will receive participation certificates.
