TVS Motor Company Limited on June 5 announced that its TVS HLX series of commuter motorcycles has crossed 5 million in global sales since its 2013 launch. The model was the first Africa-focused product launched from India and is available in 100cc, 125cc and 150cc variants across more than 57 countries worldwide.
The milestone was marked by a special factory rollout ceremony attended by Director and CEO K N Radhakrishnan, International Business President Peyman Kargar and employees. The TVS HLX series has strengthened the company's position across Africa, the Middle East and Latin America since entering those markets.
Radhakrishnan said the 5 million sales milestone over 13 years was built on the model's durability, reliability and low maintenance costs. He added that TVS HLX has emerged as a trusted mobility partner for millions of customers across international markets. Kargar said the brand has gained growth momentum and increasing market share across Africa and other international markets.
The TVS HLX portfolio includes six variants: TVS HLX Plus, TVS HLX 125, TVS HLX 125 5 Gear, TVS HLX 150, TVS HLX 150 X and TVS HLX 150 F. The brand is backed by a service and spare parts network with trained technicians across global markets, which the company said ensures long-term reliability.
The product plays a role in last-mile connectivity in rural and semi-urban regions, particularly across Africa, where it supports daily taxi operations. TVS Motor stated that the brand's portfolio positions it to address growing mobility needs in markets with low penetration of personal mobility solutions.
