Vishal Mega Mart Limited, formerly Vishal Mega Mart Private Limited, has informed the National Stock Exchange and BSE that its subsidiary Airplaza Retail Holdings Private Limited received a penalty order from the Court of Additional District Magistrate in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations. The order was received on June 11, 2026.
A penalty of Rs 0.01 crore has been imposed on the subsidiary. The order follows a store inspection conducted by a Food Safety Officer on November 26, 2025 at the subsidiary's retail store in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. During the inspection, the officer identified concerns regarding the expiry date of a product available at the store. The inspection findings led to a complaint being filed before the Additional District Magistrate.
The complaint alleged violation of provisions under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. The court imposed the penalty on Airplaza Retail Holdings Private Limited in response to that complaint.
Vishal Mega Mart stated that the financial impact of the order is limited to the penalty amount. Vishal Mega Mart said there is no material impact on its operations or other activities as a result of this order. The order pertains specifically to the subsidiary.
The subsidiary is reviewing the order and evaluating next steps. Vishal Mega Mart provided a detailed annexure along with its regulatory filing to both stock exchanges where its equity shares are listed.
