Voltas Limited has received a penalty order of Rs 0.16 crore from the Office of the State Tax Officer, Uttarakhand, under the Uttarakhand Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017. The order dated June 9, 2026, was levied under Section 129 of the Uttarakhand Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 read with relevant provisions of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 for the expiry of an E-Way Bill validity during the transportation of goods.
The penalty was imposed for the expiry of the E-Way Bill validity at the time of goods transportation. Voltas Limited has informed the exchanges that it is in the process of filing an appeal against this order. Voltas Limited received the order from the Office of the State Tax Officer, Uttarakhand, on June 9, 2026, at 6:57 p.m.
Voltas Limited has stated that there is no material impact on its financials, operations or other activities as a result of this penalty. The disclosure to the stock exchanges was made under Regulation 30 of the SEBI Listing Regulations read with Para A of Part A of Schedule III. Voltas Limited submitted the information along with the required annexure as specified under the relevant SEBI circular.
The intimation was submitted to BSE Limited, where the company trades under scrip code 500575, and to the National Stock Exchange of India Limited, where it trades under the symbol VOLTAS. The company secretary and compliance officer, Ratnesh Rukhariyar, signed the exchange filing on June 10, 2026.
The annexure to the filing confirmed the name of the authority as the Office of the State Tax Officer, Uttarakhand, and the nature of the action as a penalty levied under Section 129 read with relevant provisions of the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017.
