IRCTC Q4 profit falls 9% YoY to ₹326 crore despite revenue growth; internet ticketing remains key driver

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) reported a mixed set of numbers for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, with consolidated revenue from operations rising year-on-year while profit after tax declined compared to the corresponding quarter last year.

The company’s revenue from operations for Q4FY26 stood at ₹1,459.72 crore, up 15.1% from ₹1,268.53 crore reported in Q4FY25. Total income came in at ₹1,526.24 crore versus ₹1,329.69 crore a year ago.

Net profit after tax from continuing operations declined to ₹326.40 crore in the March 2026 quarter from ₹358.23 crore in Q4FY25. Profit before tax stood at ₹446.67 crore compared to ₹472.31 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

EBITDA for the quarter came in at ₹398.87 crore, compared to ₹385.49 crore in Q4FY25, while EBITDA margin narrowed to 27.3% from 30.4% a year ago due to higher operating expenses.

On a sequential basis, profit after tax also declined from ₹394.33 crore reported in Q3FY26, while revenue from operations remained largely stable compared to ₹1,449.47 crore in the December quarter.

Segment-wise, the internet ticketing business remained the largest contributor to profitability. The segment reported revenue of ₹390.25 crore during Q4FY26, compared to ₹372.47 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. Segment profit before tax and interest stood at ₹297.77 crore.

The catering segment generated revenue of ₹670.88 crore during the quarter, rising from ₹529.40 crore a year ago, though segment profit declined to ₹41.90 crore from ₹64.60 crore.

Tourism revenue stood at ₹303.58 crore against ₹274.42 crore in Q4FY25, with segment profit improving marginally to ₹49.23 crore.

Rail Neer revenue increased to ₹100.20 crore from ₹95.99 crore in the year-ago quarter, while segment profit stood at ₹16.15 crore.

The company’s total expenses rose to ₹1,079.65 crore during the quarter from ₹903.06 crore in Q4FY25, reflecting higher catering service expenses, tourism costs, employee costs and other operational expenses.
