Kernex Microsystems (India) Ltd has secured an order worth ₹475.21 crore from Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of onboard Kavach locomotive equipment. The contract further strengthens the company’s position in India’s railway safety and signalling segment.

According to the company’s exchange filing, the order covers onboard Kavach loco equipment based on RDSO specification RDSO/SPN/196/2020 Version 4.0 or later standards. The company said the strategic order enhances revenue visibility and reinforces its market position in the railway safety sector.

Kavach is India’s indigenous automatic train protection system developed to improve railway safety by reducing the risk of signal-passing errors and collisions. The Indian Railways has been accelerating deployment of the technology as part of a broader railway modernisation initiative.

The order has been awarded by a domestic entity and is scheduled to be executed within 12 months from the date of contract. The company also clarified that promoters do not have any interest in the awarding entity and the contract does not fall under related-party transactions.

The latest win comes as railway infrastructure and signalling companies continue to benefit from increasing investments in rail safety and network upgrades across India.
